THE FIRST WINNING NIZAMI The first two year old race of the season was the Debutante Stakes at Wanganui. It was won by Kirstymac by Nizami — from. FOR LONGER DISTANCES The four year old Beau Pere— Cuddle Beau Cheval, trained at Riccarton, has lately joined the track workers. He has furnished into a very fine type of thoroughbred and should be among 'the top rank performers this season, He is intended to contest the. principal long distance events of the Dominion. GOLDEN' SOUVENIR Mr E. N. Fitzgerald's Golden Souvenir lias been re-commissioned at Washdyke. Last season this half brother by Lang Bian to Kindergarten although detrimentally affected by injuries received from a paddock kicking bout with the champion, won two races and regis-* tered six seconds in eleven starts. Now a four year old he is likely to make a name for himself this' ■ ■ i season.
