VANDALISMS AT SCHOOL
SPRING BLOOMS PLUNDERED Petty thieves are turning their attention to the flower gardens of the Whakatanc District High School, Several times they have .stripped the plots bare of blooms j and the position seems now that it is useless to buy plants and put in many hours of work tending them,Avhen the rewards are snatched away by unscrupulous hands, the moment they become apparent. The fact that spring bulbs prove the most attractive while other flowers of the more common variety arc left unmolested would seem to indicate that it is not the work of children but of some enterprising adult trading on the v.ork and skill of others. On one occasion a whole plot of daffodils was while where only a few days ago ? a number of anemonies were in bloom, th-ere is now nothing more than a patch of soil, totally devoid of any sign of all 'the work and care which was put tn"to it. whoever is responsible for tlv.s surreptitious raiding -whether it be one or a is doing nothing more nor less than taking advantage of an institution in which no one should take anything but pride.
