Flying Bomb Story

A clerk at an East End London hospital was interviewing an old man when she heard a flying bomb cut out. She knew that it was* only a matter of seconds, before it fell so she pushed the old man unceremoniously into the passage way so that he Avould be clear of flying glass. The bomb exploded nearby ond the office was completely wrecked. As she was unhurt the clerk at once went to the casualty department to asist with the injured. When she returned two hours later she found the old man sitting outside the door amid the wreckage. "f gave you some money this moriv ing and I want my receipt please!" he said, when she asked why he was still there.
