Annual General Meeting of parishioners of St. George's Church, which was held recently in the Parish Hall. The Rev, J. C. J. Wilson presided. The balance sheet ? Avhich was read and adopted showed a healthy and well-managed control of receipts and expenditure, while reports from the various Church organisations were also read. The election of officers took place as under: — Church AVardcns: Mr C. S. Armstrong and Mr C. R. Coates. Vestry: Messrs H. L. King, E. C. Ramson J, C. Cannell; 13. F. Grace T. H. Howell, C. Downard, S. D.' Keen, D. Scmgg, L. McL. Cristall and Bishop. Auditor: Mr T. A. Bridger. Social Committee: Mesdames McLeod and Misses P. King and Morgan, and Messrs E, C Ramson and C. R. Coates. Motions of sympathy to the relatives of the late Mr Arthur Bridal ger and Mrs Carl Hyland, were passed, all standing in silence in tribute to their memory. Included in tire general business was a lengthy discussion on the advisability of purchasing a car for use by Cadet Rogers. If was felt that he was doing .such good work and had such a lot of territory to cover that he should have some means of convej-ance. It. was decided to authorise the Vestry to proceed with the raising of funds to make the. necessary purchase.

At the close of the meeting a dainty supper was served by the ladies of the Guild. The following are extracts from the annual report of the Vicar Rev. J. C. J. Wilson:— For the last four months of the year under review, Cadet Rogers has been working with the Church 1 . Stationed at Edgeeumbe he has made a useful start, and is doing very good work. At present a font is being made in Auckland for All Saints Church (Edgeeumbe) and this S'hould be ready very shortly. It is also hoped in tlie near future to add another 20 feet to the Church in such a way that the extension can be used either as extra church rooYn or as a small hall for Bible Class Sunday School and meetings. The services Avhich are held at Ohope and Onepu are both conducted in Presl)3 T terian Church Halls and thanks are extended to the Presbyterian Church lor this help. In connection 'with St. George's Church the Sunday School is functioning very well under the guidance of Miss Lenz and her assist-

ants while the Kindergarten, in charge of Miss Rowena and Miss Valerie Woods is also meeting regularly.

The St, George's Bible Class is more vigorous than it was last year and has a roll of fifteen.

The St. George's Girls Club which meets every fortnight in the Vicer-

age is a very happy set of people. Mrs Wilson is at the head, but as

n every, .worthwhile group all help

in both leading the studies and in contributing the -supper. Each member of course is also working for the (Hub's stall at the bazaar. The Guild had a most successful bazaar in November and donated a big financial contribution to the Parish.

Other (J nil els, such as. the ChurehClcaner.s Guild which has kept St, George's beautifully clean and polished the Sanctuary Guild which lias, kept the brasses polished, looked after the flowers for the Altar and attended to all things in the. Sanctuary and the Altar Servers Guild have all given, their services freely. The organist, Dr. Dawson and the Choir together with the organists, at Tancatua Matata and Kdgecumbe are also deserving of thanks. There have been several successful socials during the year in the Parish Hall, while two excellent Bible Class socials one at Thornton and one at Kdgecumbe were also very worthwhile. For the htst two years Mr Howell has represented this Parish at Synod, and it is boped that he_will be able to continue serving in this capacity. in conclusion reference "was made
