FRIENDS FOREGATHER
LT. COL. LE LIEVRE WELCOMED HOME
Guests of Mrs C. A. Le Lievre, a very wide circle of friends gathered in the Edgeeumbe Hall last. Friday night to welcome home Lieut. Colonel C. A. Le Lievre, who after a number of years of captivity recently returned. Decorations added a distinct air to the spirit of cordiality prevailing and proceedings controlled by Mr J. H. Russell pro,ceeded Avithout hindrance. Music for dancing was supplied by Messrs Reg Thompson and Tom Eagleson (piano and drums) . Between dances- songs contributed by Mesdames K. IJ. Shaw J. Jesperson and Mr 'Buster' Topp drew appreciative applause. On behalf of the gathering, Mr G. Ofcley thanked Mrs Le Lievre for the opportunity of expressing pleasure at the return of Col. Le Lievre once more to take his place among his wide circle of friends. In reply Col. Le Lievre said how happy he was to be home again and thanked his many friends for their expressions of goodwill. Veteran of two wars Lieut. Col. Le Lievre looked very fit in spite of past privations and obviously pleased with the prospect of resuming life in the community.
