HARBOUR BOARD'S POSITION In liis report to tlie Whakatane Harbour Board last week, the secretary (Mr G. (1. Lucas) reported that Harbour Board credit was £8809 2s (id viz. Liberty Loan 52r>00: National Savings Account £1000; Fixed De-« posits £4000; Credit Pass Book £709 2s. (id. £8809 2s (id. • The credit included £'2 1.17 17s 5d of the Endowment Account. Through the investment ol' £1000 in the Victory Loan the Board would have insufficient cash funds- to finance commitments to 30th September and temporarily would have to recourse to overdraft. The position would be righted by 11th and Kith October ! wh'en /ixed deposits I'or £1250 and £1000 would be due.
