MALAQUIN—BOOTH

St, Peter's Churchy Kerepeehi ? was the scene of a very pretty wedding when Roma Anne, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs Wallace Booth, of Avas married to Stanley Gilbert of Awakeri ? Whakatanc second son of Mr and Mrs E. Malaquin, of Linwood, Christchurcli. The Rev. J. C. Howat performed the ceremony synd Mrs A. P. Innis (cousin; of the bridle) presided at the organ. Entering the church on the arm of her father, the bride looked charming in a trained gown of white brocaded satin cut on classical lines. The bodice which had a softly draped corsage was. buttoned to the dropped waist line at the back with tiny satin buttons. Her embroidered tulle veil which Avas Avorn over the face as the bride entered the church AA r as fastened to the side of the head Avith a spray of chrysanthemums and maiden hair fern and she carried a shoAver bouquet of the same blooms and maiden hair and asparagus fern. Attending the bride Avere Miss Joyce Shilton of Kcrepeehi (girl friend of the bride) and Miss Audrey Innis of Remuera Auckland J ■? J (cousin of the bride). Both maids Avere frocked alike in sungloAV sheer over taffeta. The cross-over nodice of each frock Avas softly shirred at the shoulder line to match the shirred sleeve panel. Tiny buttons extended down the back of the bodice to the full gored skirt AA'hich fell in soft folds. In their hair each Avore a side spray of pink chrysanthemums, lavender campanula and maiden hair fern to tone Avith their sheafs. Mr Bob Rae, of AAvakeri attended as; best man j and Mr E. Malaquin as groomsman. Ushers at the church Avere Messrs Frank Malaquin and Geoff Innis. The large reception Avhere guests from all parts of the proA'ince Avere present, was held in the Kerepeehi Hall, the guests being reby Mrs Booth (mother of the bride) assisted by Mrs E. Malaquin (the bridegroom's mother). Mrs Booth Avore a black matt crepe frock Avith satin applique, hat and accessories of black and a shoulder spray of bronze chrysanthemums and maiden hair fern. Mrs Malaquin Avas attired in a grey tailored costume Avith naA r y hat and accessories, her shoulder spray of gold chrysanthemums and maiden hair fern. Mrs C. Billing, only sister of the bride Avore a nigger brown model hat with flower trim and bifown accessories. The bride chose for travelling a blue suit Avith black accessories and black silk velvet model hat with blue osprey. There Avere many telegrams of congratulations read at the reception also cables from friends serA ring overseas. Mr C. McKenzie, of in proposing the toast of the bridegroom's parents, congratulated them on their fine family record in this AA r ar Avith sons and Mr Malaquin himself serving Avith the Armed Forces. Four sons have returned and are fanning in the Bay of Plenty. Friends of the. bride had tastefully decorated the church and hall for the occasion with chrysanthemums, asparagus fern autumn berries and leaA'es and Avhite paper Avedding bells.
