"WOE UNTO THEM . . (No. 2) Some two centuries alter the fall of Babylon; Alexander the Great ? at only 27 ? ruled the tlienknown world. History records that while he had conquered and ruled the he could not conquer or rule himself, j The mighty Alexander the Great was conquered by alcohol; he died a drunkard's death. in B.C. 1(58, the great Roman Empire the iron monarchy was established. She ruled for some SUO years, and then she too fell. Why did she fall? Historians agree that she became weak and decadent and was finally divided into separate kingdoms because of MUCH WINE, much leisure and the slave trade. "Woe" surely came to Alexander the Great and to the great Roman Empire ? as God's Wortl had foretold: "Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine and men of strength to mingle strong tlrink" (Isaiah 5:22).
