LAND FOR SUB-DIVISION
SERVICEMEN SETTLEMENT
Until the end of June land amounting to -133 089 acres had. been purchased by the Crown- for the establishment of under the provisions of the Small Farms Act. This does not include the land acquired under Section 51 of the Servicemen's Settlement and land Sales Act bv which until the same •> date 124 properties had been purchased capable ol' sub-division into 179 units. The above information is contained in the monthly statistical review of the Rehabilitation Board, which also states that 11 properties have been acquired since the publication of the. May report. Of these two were for the settlement of Maori ex-servicemcn and were handed to the Native Department for administration. Meantime two more sufficient for three economic units in the Ashburton disJ trict were being b allotted for on July' 24.
