BASKETBALL DANCE
-LOCAL GIRLS* EFFORT A good evening's entertainment was supplied on Friday evening by the local basketball girls who ran a dance in the Caledonian Hall in order to raise funds' for a forthcoming trip to Gisborne. A good crowd was present and dancers were not backward in taking advantage of the music which was supplied in the usual, bright way by the Premier Band.' Mr Harry Mole } who was M.C. f made a thoroughly good job of the and patrons could find no cause to complain of dull interludes. A delicious supper of tea, sand-? wiches, savouries and home-made cakes was served by the girls and put patrons back into full f«'ttle once again for the remainder of the dancing which concluded at a jate hour.
