WEDDING BELLS

MATSON —-HENDERSON An Anglo-American wedding was solemnised recently at St. Paul's, Svmonds Street, when Margery Dawn eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs W. S. Henderson, Francis Street Whakatane, was married to Ensign George Leonard Matson, U.S.N.R., only son of Mr and Mrs G. A. MatsoK Houghton, Michigan, U.S.A. The Rev. Corbin officiated. The bride, who entered the church with her father looked very aitrac<tivc in a trained frock of white embossed satin cut with a sweetheart neckline the bodice gathered, at the waist to the fully gored skirt. Her dainty veil was held in place with a coronet of orchids and jonquils, and her bouquet, was of camellias orchids and. jonquils. She was attended by a matron of honour Mrs Phyllis Young, of Auckland whose frock was of blue scmi-cloque made with a crossover front and detachable basque. She wore deep pink camellias in her hair and. carried a bouquet of the same flbwers and also wore the gift of the 1 bridegroom, a handsome gold locket. The best man was Lieut. John Dulhie U.S.N.R. About seventy guests attended the reception held in the Savoy, Karangahape Road, including Capt. Matheny and officers of the bridegroom's shijj. They were received by the bride's and by Mrs Matt Barrowman of Whakatane. Mrs '9 Henderson wore a suit of turquoise blue and black accessories, and carried a bouquet of autumn toned flowers.. Mrs Barrowman wore a grey coat over a blue crepe frock with accessories, to tone, and Miss Pat Henderson's coat frock and hat 9 were of blue. The usual toasts were honoured, the toastmaster being Chief Warrant Officer Pitt, U.S.N.R. Flying Officer D. Laloli Whakatane, replied to the toast of the bride's two absent servicemen brothers. At the conclusion of the breakfast a dance was held. v Later in the week Mr and Mrjs Matson visited Mrs Matson's home in Whakatane.
