MR A. E. BRIDGER f In the /cleath of Mr Arthur Edgar Bri^ger ? which occurred at an early Ijqur on Thursday morning Wliaka r 1 tane and district has lost one of its best known and widely respected, citizens ol' thirty-one years stands. % ing. > ■ A well known member of tlie firm.' 1 * of Bridgers Ltd., Mr Bridger was born in Auckland sixty-two years ago t the fourth son of the late Mr and Mrs Thomas Bridger. He was educated in Auckland and. in which.latter place; lie spent much of his early life. In 1914 he came to » <■ Whakatane to open and manage a branch shop of the firm and since that time ? has seen the town and surrounding district develop and progress. ' I He was always keenly interested in the affairs of the town, holding " office as a member of the Borough) Council for He was also a member and l&st-president of the Bowling Club, and took an interest in the development of all other] sport in the district. Mr Bridger; was a member of the St. George's Church and served on the vestry*^. for many years.
