CROQUET CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING HELD
The annual general meeting of the Whakatane Croquet Club was held, on Wednesday June 13 when most of the members were present. After the reading of the minutes of last annual meeting and adoption of the balance the president presented a full report on the season's. activities but regretted that '9 ° owing to the Domain Board having difficulty With labour ? the lawns during the latter half of the season had. not been in a very satisfactory condition which was very disap- > ' i pointing. She urged members to -encourage new players to take up the sport. On behalf of the members and herself expressed appreciation to the secretary for interest taken in the club. In conclusion she thanked her committee and members for their loyal support during her term of office. The election of officers, was as follows: President, Mrs Creeke (reelected); vice-president Mrs Comer; secretary Mrs Burgess (re-elected); committee Mesdames Baxter Shaw i ' > Hellyar and Woolliams; handicapper Mrs Hellvar; tea Itulv Mrs Shaw; - V .J green superintendent Mrs Creeke; draw committee Mesdames Creeke •5 and Burgess. Mrs Caislev proposed, a vote of | thanks to the outgoing committee.
