SURPRISE PARTY
MR AND MRS S. PEARCE
On Saturday evening last, all roads I*l to the residence of Mr anjd Mrs I S. Pearcc Otakiri, -when their many friends joined to give them the good old customary "tin canning." All assembled at a given rendevous complete with a piano on a lorry arid the raid was on. How the home accommodated the large crowd of about 80, is still a mystery, but Mr and Mrs Pearcc proved, equal to the occasion. Mr Dunning as toastmaster also proved equal to the obcasion. With Mrs Armstrong at the piano the evening was spent with one of those good old sing songs which everyone young and 01-d enjoys so | thoroughly. In fact so lustily did the singing go, that it was a very husky but happy crowd which later gathereYl round for the singing of Auld Lang Syne. After expressing their thanks to the newly weds for their hospitality, it was a case of Home James for all, including the piano.
