The basic allotment during the past season was 28 per cent, of the average annual quantity used in two year period ended 31st 1941. That amount is now to be increased to 45 per cent., in other words, the allocation will be increased by half. For the purpose of increasing but-? terfat production, a special per cow allotment was granted last season.^ but it. will not be available, this season. This general rise of 14 per cent. covers all classes of farming. Fertiliser for cropping and the laying down of new pastures is again available. When ordering fertiliser for cropping, a requisition has to be filled in with your merchant, stating the area to be sown a check of which may be made, later. _ The use of Serpentine super for top-dressing i.s fully recommended by the Department of Agriculture. it has been proved over a period^ that highly satisfactory results can be. obtained. Additional advantages gained by spceifying Serpentine are: one ton 7cvvts is equivalent to one ton straight it is easiet to distribute, and sacks do not deteriorate in storage. The deliveries of last season's orders have not been overtaken by the manufacturers, but it is hoped they will be* completed by August next y when they will commence on this new season, immediately. In this issue an advertisement appears giving an opportunity for a month to lodge appeals for fertiliser ration. The conditions under which they will be considered are. set out in the advertisement and applications will not be received after 15th August next. Local members of th 6 Council should be consulted for any fuller information. ,
