Miss Dawne Bennett daughter of Mr and Mrs L. of Whakatane, who is at present on the nursing staff of the Tauranga Hospital, has passed her Junior State Examination with honours. Mr E. H. Morice of the Native Department's Field. Staff, has arrived on transfer from Ruatoria, where he has been stationed for the past 12 years and is now located with the department's Whakatane office. Friends of Mr and Mrs L. Bennett will be glad to learn that their son Lance who has had many exciting experiences in the Merchant Navy ? has been recently successful in passing' his examination for his second officer's ticket.
