WELCOME HOME
GAY WAIMANA EVENING A jolly welcome home dance to Cpl. C. J. Menzies and Ptc. F. Collins was held in the Waimana Hall last Thursday evening. There was a good attendance o! lriends from the surrounding district. Music was supplied by Mr R. Boynton'.s orchestra and Mr M. W. Kin-g capably actc'd as MC. Mr C. Such was doorkeeper. Mr A. Eagle, obliged with two popular extras on the'accordion playing the Lancers, and D'Alberts. After supper t Mr L. Dircker ? on ! behalf of the Waimana Patriotic Committee and all present, ATelcom- , ed the. guests; stating how pleasing I it was to be able to welcome the .■boys home again } and asked Cpl. 1 Menzies and Pte. Collins to accept a small gift from all ; in appreciation of their past years of service in the 1 lighting forces overseas. The guests both suitably thanked all for the 1 pleasant evening and gift which was 1 greatly appreciated. The function I -closed with the National Anthem at 3 a late hour.
