GREASY WOOL 1944-45 CLIP It has been announced by the Minister oi' Finance Mr Nash that f. 9 in the changed circumstances now existing a decision has been reached to pay to woolgrowers in cash the full price of greasy wool from the 1914-45 clip. This means that the 10 per cent of appraisal value held back will lie paid in casji as soon as practictablc after the close of the wool season. Previously under other circumstances a portion of | the amount had been paid in the form of war loan securities. It will not be possible to arrange for the acceptance of orders on the Marketing Department or through Wool Brokers for direct investments in the Loan s for the reason that the Wool Retention Moneys will not be payable to the woolgrowers for some time at least until after the close f of the 194,5 Victory Loan and furthermore, the -Marketing Department has no rccord of the. amounts due to individual woolgrowers. It is that some Avoolgrowers will wish to invest the proceeds in the Loan ? and in the circumstances any grower who desires to adopt this course should arrange temporary finance through his banker or other agency in anticipation of the receipt of his wool moneys, and lodge an application with the requisite deposit before the close of the Loan on June 1(>. The payment of wool moneys which will be received by the grower at a later date through his Wool Broker could then be applied to repay the advance.
