WELCOME HOME DANCE
The welcome home clancc held in the Waimana Hall recently } was verywell patronised. Several of the recently returned soldiers were unable to attend one Bdr C. Menzies f he-' ing in hospital. The music for dancing was supplied free by the Waimana Orchestra and the duties of M.C. were carried out by Mr A. Angus. After supper t Mr J. L. Burnett on behall" of all present, asked the guests to come forward. The speaker said lie tyok great pleasure in being able to welcome home Privates J. Eraser S. Green H. Rua and •. '9 9 Able Seaman B. White. [ Mrs Wykle than presented each ! one with a small cheque in appreciation of what they had done in the past years in the lighting services overseas. The guests in turn thanked all for the much enjoyed evening and gift. All joined in singing "For They Are Jolly Good Fellows." A much enjoyed vocal solo was given bv Private Svd Green the i singer . receiving great applause at the conclusion. At a late hour the function concluded with the National Anthem.
