W.O.F. CASE
SEQUEL TO COLLISION
A fine ol' 10s with costs 10s was inflicted on V. T. Guide (Mr Barry.) in the Whakatane Magistrate's Court on Tuesday, defendant being charged with driving a heavy motor vehicle without the necessary warrant of fitness 011 the Manawahe Road on April' 27, when the truck was involved in a collision. For the defence, Mr Barry stated that the truck in question belonged to the Bay of Plenty Power Board. The onus was on each individual driver to see that his truck possessed a W.O.F. and in this Guide had overlooked the item, it being one of those periods when the Power Board was rushed with work, and the men had not much time between jobs.
