IN MEMORIAM
Horton Oliphant. In proud antl loving memory of our Horton ( killed in action May 27 th ? 1941 ) Suda Bay, Crete, and also of his many comrades, who like him } gave their young lives that we might live in peace. , To have fought, to have lost, to have fallen to have won from the losing such glorj'; Under a rain of death so immortal a flower to have planted: In the hush of even that falls .When the strife of the day is a story, In the breaking of waves will their voices Sound o'er a sea enchanted: Here shall we know how their valour Gained them a raiment immortal, Listen, and grieve, and be proud Where % deathless, they passed the Portal. —Remembered always by his lonely Parents and Family.
