He liad t ,when visiting Otakiri on sth April stated that he would try to commence the course of injections in the country schools, including Otakiri, during April and if possible, towards- the end of that month. In addition it was arranged that the District Health Nurse distribute the necessary acceptance forms in the next week or so, which might have; given rise to the impression that the. writer would visit Otakiri earlier than the end of the month. Also the impression may exist that, the commencement of the course of injections immediately conferred protection in the .child innoculated. Unfortunately no such claim be made as immunity to diphtheria could be expected to develop only alter the lapse of some two or three months from date of the last injection.
