The tobacco industry is one of the most important in the world, and its importance is constantly increasing. Tt is computed that there are f>()0 different kinds of tobacco grown within the British Empire alone! Of course, the quality varies immensely, but it may be said without fear of contradiction that of all these tobaccos there are none that surpass in purity and fragrance those grown and manufactured in New Zealand by the National Tobacco Co., Ltd. (pioneers ol' the tobacco industry in the Dominion). Their outstanding merit is largely due to the fact that they fire toasted. This process rids them of the poisonous nicotine and renders them perfectly innocuous, a point that doctors (heavy smokers as a rule) have not been slow to recognise. In fact, man\ of them smoke National brands exclusively: Riverhead Cold, Desert Gold. Pocket Edition (mild), Navy Cut No. 3 (medium) and Cut Plug No. 10 (full strength), also Riverhead and Desert Gold tailormades. All toasted., and no sore throat, no cj ugh.
