ENJOYABLE CARD EVENING
EDGECUMBE NATIONAL PARTY A card evening promoted by the Edgecumbe Branch of the National Party was held on Thursday last, when the winners of the Aggregate score were decided. The honours in this field went to Mrs E. B. Lis.t and Mr F. Kealey. Prize winners for the evening score were Mrs J. j Shaw and Mr J. Proffitt. The opportunity was taken during the evening to bid farewell to Mr and Mrs W. Hoskin who are to leave the district in the near future. Mr lan B. Gow in extending good wishes to the guests referred to their unfailing interest in the promotion and conducting of card evenings and the fostering of the social spirit. He also made complimentary reference to Mr Jack Hoskin, as the organiser and hard working secretary of the popular Indoor Sports Club. In asking Mr Hoskin to accept a gift, Mr Gow said their departure was regretted.
Mr Hoskin suitably replied. The family will make their future home at Otorohanga.
