FURTHER WARM TRIBUTES BOROUGH COUNCILLORS PRAISE The Boys' Band came in for the . warmest commendation at the meet-: ing of the Borough Council last when the annual application i'or a grant came before it. "The Band is a great asset to our town " said the Mayor in discussing the letter. "It has reached a veryhigh standard and is ready to turn out at a moment's notice." Cr Canning added his tribute and mentioned the great work of the Bandmaster (Mr W. Jarrett) and of the secretary (Mr H .G. Warren). He mentioned the fact" that several members were going to Wellington to participate in the forthcoming competitions. On the motion of the Mayor it was decided to grant the usual sum and further to write congratulating the Band on its progress.
