Winners of Ist sweepstake were Wright, Corbett, Spenec. on recount. 2nd sweepstake Wright, Syme and Combes on count back. Eclectic The winner of tlie Eclectic Handicap over 3(3 holes was Wright with a score of 77 —18—59. Then the following in order: Dr Dawson 84—18—(36; Syme 50—13—67; Denham 91 —24—07; Spcnce 79—11 —08; Cockerell 89—20—09. The scores sheet has been posted in the clubhouse . Re-handicap Wright will now play off 14 and Syme oil' 12. Sectional Matches These commenced last Saturday. Those who were not able to play their matches will play them after the third round has been completed. With so little golf available to many of the members, the match committee has decided to adopt a measure of leniency and give players time to play off. The results of the matches played were as follows: Connell beat Cradwick 1 up; Steel beat Rangi 2 and 1; Milne beat Combes; Dr Dawson beat Barry; Dallas beat Stone; Denham beat King. Draw The second round will be played next Saturday, the draw being as follows: Connell v Powdrell; Cradwick v Carter; Henderson, v Rangi; Hyland v Steel; Luxton v Spenec; Morpeth v Butler; Combes v Suck-, ling; Milne v Syme; Burstall v And-1 erson; Wright v Bridger; Littlejohn v Dr Dawson; Berg v Barry; Bushett' v Cockerell; Campbell v Muscset.t; Moore v Trask; Sloane v Armstrong; Corbett v Stone; Spring v Dallas; Denham v Rev. Rangi; King v Turnbull; W T yllie v Rev. Wilson; Hay v J. Wilson; Brian Butler v Winstone; Hudson a bye. Players who will not be able to turn out are requested to contact their opponents or ring the. club captain. More favourable comments passed by visitors who have played on our course. These golfers have played on many courses during their travels some have been sadly neglected during the war, and others have suffered through dry weather. They remarked how pleasurable it Avas to ploy on a course where the grass was green and everything so well kept.
