CELEBRATING THE PEACE
IT is fortunate that we are all born different in our outlook and characteristics. No better opportunity was afforded recently than the observance of the coming of the peace in Europe and the many and varied methods in which individuals sought to celebrate it. We all of us gave vent to our feelings in one way or another. With a percentage the 'pub' was the rallying point. With others, it was an opportunity for a little innocent 'acting the goat.' Again others appeared to sense the more serious aspect of the still unbeaten Empire of Japan, whilst some concluded their acknowledgment of the great news with the service on Wednesday morning. We are probably as good a crosscut of humanity in this town as anywhere else, and it can be truthfully said that apart from one or two undesirable incidents by utter irresponsibles, the news of the Armistice in.Europe was celebrated in the same hearty, happy and complete manner as it was in most other places in the Dominion.
