It was stated that the fixed price for hogget mutton was a lb. and for mutton 4%d,
It was a Ewe Mr W. J. Bradley ? K.C. (for the Crown) > said that the company.had delivered five carcases, purporting to lie those, of hoggets to a retail butcliL* 1 named Gfeon_ at I)rummoyne on June 33. Price officers seized one of the carcases and sent half of it to Government officers, who removed the flesh and submitted the bones to examination. Scientific opinion was that the carcase was not that of a but that of" a three year old ewe. Mr R. Ashburner ; for the company, submitted that there was conflict in some of the evidence of witnesses called by the company and the Crown ? and that there could be no certainty as to the age-of the carcase. Mr Atkinson said he considered it was established that the carcase was in fact that of a three year old ewe.
