board for the Goodwill Cruisen

~= PETER WiE WHALER | §?— of WHALE ISLAND 3 I?kxxxxxx^ZXCXJs

I What ho, what ho ma hearties. Well there is certainly a nip in the air these mornings isn't there. I always find it very hard to get out of bed and so do t.he threfe pets. Tn fact Butinsky, who doesn't like' cold weather at all simply refuses to wake up until dinner time and then if it is still cold he sleeps all day. Of course it really doesn't matter as he is not much use anyway. By the way, I am sure you will all lie interested to hear that I have got my boomerang back. It arrived by mail yesterday from Gisborne. Apparently it was going at such a terrific .speed that it went out of sight of Whale Island, and when it turned round didn't know which way to go. Anyway, it circled right round the Gape, and landed in Gisborne. I believe it went through two windows knocked a cat uncon--3 scious and landed in the kitchen sink of a house. The people who lived there mu,st have a copy of the Beacon guessed the boomerang was mine and returned it (together with the bill for damages). You can imagine liow pleased I was. In fact [ was so pleased I lit the fire this morning with the bill,, and chopped up the boomerang for kindling wood. (I am expecting another bill shortly) . Well I had better continue with the rest of tlie column. Cheerio for now. P.T.W. PALMERSTON NORTH CORNER What ho there Pahnerston North folk. LAST WEEK'S COMPETITION Well, I am afraid some of you were rather puzzled over one of the towns. It was number 13 ? the second to last one.
