COUNTY COUNCIL SALARIES
Sir ? —ln your report of last County Council meeting, the Council had under consideration the salaries, of their Executive Officers, as they did not belong to any Trade Unions who would keep their pay in li,ne with the modern trend. Hence) their appeal direct to the Council with | which I have no quarrel, but T was I amazed to read that one councillor should bring up the case of another employee for a rise in wages' who I understand is protected by a Trade Union, which no doubt would see that this particular person's wages were up to scale. The more amazing thing about this advocate is that he is the same, councillor who through the Hospital and Public meetings also per medium of the press at the last Hospital Election advocated a reduction of the heavy burden of County rates carried by the County ratepayers;" This councillor would seem to be consistently inconsistent or may be he missed the bus or has taken a complete somersault. Yours etc s PRO BONA PUBLIC*
