The cabinet has adopted the recommendations of its sub-committee ? which recommended the revival of the Motor-vehicle Agreement Act and the Motor-vehicle Engine Bounty Act. The former Aet } passed in 1940 authorised an agreement between the Government and a company that was to have been formed by the Australian Consolidated Industries Ltd. to manufacture cars. The Bounty Act provided for the payment of bounties on engines manufactured in Ausratlia. The car the Government wants produced is a "utility model in power, price and range."
