EDGECUMBE'S PATRIOTIC EFFORT

Sir ? — Would you be so good as to allow me on behalf of my Patriotic Committee to utilise a small portion of space in your esteemed paper for the purpose of enlisting the support—moral and financial—of every resident of Edgecumbe. This year's allocation made by the Whakatane Patriotic Zone for the Edgeeijmbe district is £1035 and is the largest allocation in the County with the exception of Whakatane Borough ami Ohope. In addition to this we have to find £90 due to certain committees having defaulted. As advertised elsewhere in this issue ? it is the intention of. my committee to make a big effort on June 4th (King's Birthday) to raise this amount. The effort will take the form of something novel for this district and nothing will be spared in our endeavour to give the public something worth while in return for their patronage.

Yours etc. 5 D. Si HADCLIFFE » '9 Chairman Edgecumbe Patriotic 9 ° Committee.
