A mosl enjoyable cricket game was played by members ol' a WaiimanaWhakalane Uniled combined team avln» travelled to Opotiki on Sunday last lo meet a team composed of mostly young players. OpotiUi batted first making 107 runs ;uid although some of I lie younger players were nervous for a slarl tliey showed I hat tliey had real ability. The most successful bowler for Opotiki was iWason who took all 5 wickets lor :il runs'. Waimana-W'hakalane Uniled made 11.1 for 5 wickets declared and with about an hour of play left Opoti'lti had another knock but no scores were taken. For the combined team 11. Wardlaw was the most success., fill batsman making 44 not out in great style: McKenzie 22 and Roach 14 were the next highest scorers.
