GOOD ENDEAVOUR LEAGUE
What what ho j ma hearties. ; here we are once again read}' to start a bright and jolly new year. I suppose by this lime you have ail started school again and are getting back into the way of schoolwork and homework. It may seem a bit boring and tiresome, to you at first but let me assure you it is well worth every effort you put into it. I dare say we will have a whole flock of new sailors joining the League during the next few months so you older hands will have to real-, ly send in first class entries for the 1 competitions, if you want to score. You will be glad 'to hear that the three pets and myself are all doing ! well. McDougall especially has settled down very well and acts now as if he had been with me for } r ears. He still seems to v be able to boss Butinsky round in any way he pleases although Peterkin is a bit more independent. [ have had quite a busy time since the. page closed repainting Monty the dinghy and hope to start going out on fishing trips in it once again shortly. The first time I took McDougall out to sea with me he did the usual thing and hung over the side most of the time but now he acts like a real ancient mariner and can almost, equal Peterkin in his seamanlike ! manner. Well I had better continue Avith the re&t of the page so cheerio for now and remember, all you intending members, you will be more than welcome. P.T.W. Well, I have not the full amount of space that I usually have this week ? but the full panel of two columns should appear as usual next week. Those who asked for the Forest and Bird magazine last year "should receive them shortly but there
are still a few more to go out. As soon as I see Old Saltwater again I will remind him about them. All the best. P.T.W. NEXT WEEK'S COMPETITION Now then for the first competition of the year. As many of you will no doubt have just returned from holidays I think it would be a good idea
if you wrote and told mc. about your own particular holiday what you dicl ( where you went ) and how you spent it. Even if you had a holiday at home you can write and let me know what you did most of. the time. Your entries need not be very long. Free tickets go to the four best answers. P.T.W.
