Melbourne Stage Success A New Zealandei\ Joy Bcattie, has been selected to appear in J. C. Williamson musical productions., states a Melbourne message. Two representatives of the firm saw Miss Beattie in the title role of "The Belle of New York " with the Dunedin Operatic Society, and Avere so impressed with her work that they arranged for her to come to Melbourne. Following a try-out with an orchestra at His Majesty's Theatre .she lias been selected to play the leading role of Margot in a reviva! of "Desert Sorg'' opening in three weeks.
