further patriotic effort NOVELTY MONTE CARLO' DANCE The large attendance at the Patriotic dance held in the Awake.ro Hall last Tuesday was particularly pleasing in view of the harvesting operations and counter attractions whiwh are taking place in the district. Music was once again supplied by the Premier Dance Band j which mads immediate and was called upon to give encore alter en coreMr Coll McDonald acted as M,G. and saw to it that no dull moments invaded the proceedings. The Monte Carlo Waltz (handicap) which is extended over several months was inaugurated. This popular competition which is lor a sum of Jxas created quite a lot of interest in Awa'keri, ami the finalists will be eagerly awaited. The winners last* Tuesday were Mr and Mrs T. Corbett. Supper was in the hands, of a committee of district ladies who left nothing to. be desired. Awakeris next. Patriotic dance takes place on February 20.
