W AIM AN A WINS BY ONE RUN Wlia'katane United were defeated for the second time this season when they met. Waimana during the weekenld. United won the toss and elected to bat however their start was 3 disastrous as McKenzic was caught in slips and Fisher bowled in the first over. Spring, Rigden and Cameron were sent, back in quick succession and five wickets were down for 11 runs. At this stage Parkcs joined Roach and took the score to 47 f Parkes making 22 in fine style hitting four boundaries. Smith was the next batsman and he also rose to; the occasion and with Roach put up another useful 22 runs. The innings closed at 84, Roach being 35 not out. He batted steadily through-i out, as. was required but anything loose was dealt with severely. Miller finished with the best bowling average 5 for 28.
