EMERGENCY SCHEME

EXTENSION OF TIME

An extension of time lias been approved by the Hon. Minister of Finance to receive further applications for rural housing for farm workers. The scheme was originally open until November 30 last when the Prim--1 ary Production Council dealt with i numerous applications, for hutments and permanent houses.. The schedule offers three types of Army hutments, single, double and married quarter units also two types of permanent houses. Terms can be arranged for renting and purchasing the huts. The quarterly rental is: Type A, 25/-; B, £2; £5. The purchase price for A and B only are £40 and £60 respectively. The standard houses are £750 and £980 and if terms are it can be done under the Farmers Loan Emergency Regulations through the State Advances Corporation. All the. work necessary to erect them on the farms will be carried out by the Housing Construction Department. The buildings are supplied to farmers complete and ready for occupation. This offer is to remain open until March 31 next. If accommodation is required applications should lie made to the Secretary of the Primtry Production Council. Leaflets are available showing plans and conditions.
