A "MONSTER" APPEARS
EXCITEMENT IN EIRE
A "monster" which lias appeared iii Dromate Lake in County Monaghan Eire, has caused many Irishmen to l'orget the war for a little while. It would appear to be a young relative of the. Loch * Ness monster states an English newspaper. ' Several anglers claim to have seen the creatine. during the last month and a farmer who has lived near the lake for 30 years saw it about two yards- away and shot at it. The farmer sriid that although he could not- see the full body of the monster, it seemed to be about seven feet long with two arms with claws, or webbed feet, attached. Its tail was about 18 inches long and six inches broad. The appearance of the monster put a sudden end to swimming in the lake and only a few anglers were brave enough to venture out in a boat. Everv night local farmers y armed with go out in boats'in searcli of this, strange lish. and.in the hope, of catching sight of it. Crowds throng the shores of the lake at the week-ends.
