UNABLE TO ATTEND
INVITATION TO POLISH SCOUTS
POSSIBILITY NEXT, YEAR
In answer to the invitation from the Scout Commissioner for the Bay of Plenty ? for Polish Scouts now in the refugee camp at Pahiatua to attend the District. Scout Camp at Lake Rotoma j the Camp Superintendent Mr J. K. Sledzins-ki, has written regretting the inability of the boys to be present. The letter run?:— To our deep regret we will be unable to accept your offer, as our bo 3's do not know the English language sufficiently to be able to make themselves understood. ! Besides the everyday routine, the boys have to study hard to catch up the deficiency in their lessonscaused by their journeys, change of surroundings and learn the English language. Those are the. reasons why we have to decline all the invitations in the meantime. We sincerely hope however to be able to accept some of them by the next summer holidays. We thank you again for ytfur kind thoughts of our boys j and extending our best wishes to your organisation.
