"NOEL"
In spite of bursting bomb and shell, That's turned God's earth Into man's cruel hell, The ancient tune, we love, so well, While, church bells ring and organs play Is carrolled round the world today, To celebrate the glorious morn. Among the cattle and the corn, The incarnate, son of God was born, To break oppression's' cruel rod, prove the truth of the, angels song We sing when Xmas comes along; Peace on earth ; and mercy mild God and sinners reconciled. ! Some, scientific cynics claim, Christ is 'just a Jewish name, The, title of. a tribal tale Time worn, ob&olete. and stale. When the final tick of time is past, Anfc.l the harvest wain rolls home at last, May the remnants of mankind be found By the bonds of love securely bound Together in the golden sheave With those, who seeing not believe. With seasonal greetings and sincere wishes for all that is brightest anid best. To the Editor, staff and readers, of the. Wliakatanc Beacon . H, SERGANT.
