THE "GOOD ENDEAVOUR" LEAGUE FOR YOUNG READERS ONLY

What ho what lu\ ma hearties. Well only one week to go now and we'll be right on to]) of Christmas. Shiver my timbers ( but. this year's gone last: why it only seems, -as if it was last week that the page openeel again after the last Christmas holidays. I spent a very busy day indeed yesterday cooking my Christmas pudding. Of eour.se it had to be a bigger one this year as now I have another pet, and from the. way lie eats porridge f. should say McDougal] would he capable of inak-f ing short work of any Christmas pudding. Of course after I had cooked it 1 had to hang it; up and it is now out underneath the tree at the front of m.y cave -waiting till Christmas day. Butinsky was very disappointed when he saw me tic it up out of his reach as he thought we were going to have it straight after I had cooked it. As it is I have to keep watching it like a hawk or the pets will have it eaten before it is time.. I came out to the front of mv cave Inst night after and there was McDougall balancing on Peterkin's shoulder and doing his best to reach it. I them and told them that if 1 caught them doing it again there would be no pudding for theni'at all, and they both did their best to look as if they hadn't been doing anything in particular. Well, there is still the cake to be made and I have to find some lamb from .somewhere too (if t have enough coupons) so I had better get on with the rest of the page. See you all next week. P.T.W.
