NEW LADIES' RESTROOM
W.D.F.U. REQUEST
BOROUGH TO INVESTIGATE
Urging the necessity for the immediate construction of a further ladies' restroom in town the Secretary of the W.D.F.U. Federation wrote the Borough Council last Monday evening. Complaint wasmade that the present accommodation was far from sufficient to meet the needs of the shopping public and it was claimed that if another suitable convenience could be. erected near the Rock it would go a long way to meeting the position. Another point raised was that the Road Services passengers aggravated the position at the only existing restroom on the eastern Strand. The Council viewed the matter sympathetically and agreed to investigate the possibilities of building a new structure near the site indicated. The Mayor remarked that such a project had already been suggested some years ago but had been found impracticable owing to the difficult drainage facilities in the vicinity. The matter, however could be thoroughly gone into with a view to meeting the wishes of the writer. The whole question was referred to the Works Committee Tor invesitgation. It was decided to forward the portion of the letter dealing- with the Road Services to the Railway Department in order to back up the Council's representations which have already been made; along those lines*
