THE "GOOD ENDEAVOUR" LEAGUE FOR YOUNG READERS ONLY

What ho, what lio ma hearties. Well here we, are once again and oni'y just a Jew days over a week before, you all break up for the school holidays. I only hope we have decent weather for tliem as holidays are not much use when; it is wet all the time are they. Well, about the. mutton bird; I tried -what I thought were the. four best names out. on him to see which one he liked best. The four I tried were Reuben Clarence '> 9 Brutus and McDougall. Somehow lie. didn't respond to the first three but when I mentioned McDougall his head shot, up and lie looked very pleased with himself. I think he must be. a true Scot so from now i on McDougall he is. The sailor who sent in the name can, collect his ticket as soon as he Avants it. Butinskv and McDougall are still the best of pals and everywhere they go together McDougall rides on Butinsky's back as hi& legs are. so short he cannot walk very fast at all. At first Peterkin treated McDougall somewhat but now he is quite friendly with him and. the three get on very well together. I am still endeavouring to teach McDougall not to start crooning in the middle of the night as it wakes us all up (he really makes some hideous noises) but so far he. has not paid attention to mc. McDougall really must have quite a bit of Scottish blood flowing through I'll is veins as there is nothing lie likes better than a good plateful of porridge. In fact when I am cooking Lt in the morning lie gets very impatient for 111 cto serve it, and hops up and down on one foot complaining very loudly. Well I will tell you more, about him next, week as I have not much space in my column and T have quite a lot to say. Checi'io for this week. P.T.W.
