WHAKATANE DEFEATS TANEATUA In an inter-club fixture for the Shield Whakatane defeated Taneatua over the week-end to the tune of 89 points to 75.The match was keen and thoroughly enjoyed by participants from both clubs. The winners, being holders from last, year';: games are now looking forward to the return match when they will try conclusions with Taneatua on the latter's greens. Black Marketing of Pork At the Master Butchers' Association conference in Palmerston North Mr W. S. Hughes (Christchurch) brought up the matter of black marketing of pork. He said that the butchery business viewed with alarm the sale of pork despite the fact that this was' officially suspended by regulation. Ordinary pork was being sold as wild pork. The penalties for those found retailing pork on the black market were not heavy enough, he contended. It was decided to write to the Government on the lines stated by Mr Hughes.
