UNUSUAL COINCIDENCE
MUCH TRAVELLED CARTON
In these days of war restrictions when one piece of paper } or one. boxmust be made to do the work of it is not unusual to find a package bearing several labels with previous addresses stamped thereon. It is rare however, to find a carton such as. one which was sent recently from a resident of the district to Mr F. M. Abbott of Whakatane.
Strangely enough, the box had originally 'come from a firm of chemical manufacturers in the United States bearing almost the same name —that of 'Abbott Industries.' From there j it had been sent to the Hudson Bay Company in Canada ) which hael 3 in turn used it as a container for gooels to New By a devious route it has finally wound up in Whakatane, and it is intended to forward it to Italy as the outer covering to a soldier's parcel.
When the makers stamped on the outside of the carton, 'Make This Carton Do War Work. Us it Again' they could little have foreseen it's ultimate destination; and its travels arc not by any means, finished yet.
