KNOX ANNUAL BAZAAR
SUCCESSFUL AFTERNOON The Knox Annual Bazaar was held in the Presbyterian Hall on Saturday afternoon. Excellent weather favoured the and the stalls were very well patronised throughout the afternoon. In. the unavoidable absence, of the Minister the bazaar was opened by Mr A. Sutherland, who took the opportunity to welcome the other guilds ) and to congratulate them on their successful efforts. He also expressed the hope that the Knox bazaar would meet with similar success. The stalls were then opened 4 and business proceeded apace. The produce stall did an excellent trade 1 and at the end of the the ladies in charge Mesdames A. J. Moore, Hogg, Hall and Martin had very little of the. original stock left on their hands. The same might be sa'id for the cake stall. Tempted by the delicious array of the public kept Mesdames A. Stewart J. Patterson busy doling them out till there were very few left to choose from. Mesdames H. D. PatH. O. Garaway and ifl change of the Plain Sewing were fully employed while Mrs H. Johrirunning the Busy Bee stall was aljso successful in thati direction!. The. Girls' Auxiliary Stall in cjiarge of a number of the girls was freely patronised, while the same could be said for the afternoon tea tables in the capable hands; of Mesdames J. Fraser ? McKenzie and Buddie as-, sisted by a band of willing helpers. Although the. hall was somewhat small for the occasion the function i} was very successful from every point of and it is hoped after the war to once more hold the annual bazaar in the open.
