GYMNASIUM CLUB

CLOSE OF SEASON

To mark the close to a successful season, a social evening and dance was held by the local gymnasium club in the Caledonian Hall on Tuesday evening. Upwards of fifty visitors were present and together with the members, filled the hall comfortably. The evening commenced with a gym display which reflected a great deal of the work done during the past month, and continued with dancing and games. Len Broadmore, Jack Harris and Phil Moore supplied the music, and were entirely successful in that direction, while Bill Howat performed the duties of Master of Ceremonies. Feature of he evening was a tap number given by Miss Ruby Howat and M>r Phil Dixon, the. popular combination which performed at the dance held a short time ago in support of, the Le.per Fund. The fact that-the item was very popular was amply evidenced by the applause which greeted its conclusion. Supper was served towards the close of the evening and reflected credit on the gym committee which was responsible for it. Dancin'g concluded at midnight and marked the close of the gym club till when it is expected the new season will open.
