FAREWELL GATHERING
FUNCTION AT FENTON'S MILL
MR AND MRS W. JAMIESON
AND FAMILY
A. l'arewell to Mr and Mrs W. Jamieson and Miss Sylvie Jamieson was given on Saturday night, October 28 at Fenton's Mill, when they were presented on behalf of the mill employees with a pair of handsome pictures and a beautiful wall mirror. Mr Len Smith who made the prespoke of the esteem in which the Jamieson family had been held by all with whom they came in contact. During the evening dancing was indulged in to bright music by Pic Stewart's band. Songs were rendered by Mrs Jamieson Mr Cribb, Mr King Miss Jamieson and Mr Edwards. Miss Peggy Stewart and Mr Eric Moses gave an exhibition Rumba. A splendid sit-down supper was provided and was tastefully served and thoroughly enjoyed by all. After supper dancing was resumed and games indulged in when everyone appeared to be in gay mood. During an interval Mr Vic Stewart, in a neat speech, said that the district was sorry to lose the Jamieson family who had always given a helping hand and valuable assistance at social functions. Mr Cribb also spoke of the many fine qualities of the departing family. Mr Edwards and Mr Berkett also expressed their views in the same strain. Dancing continued until a late hour when the singing of "For They Are Jolly Good Fellows" with great gusto brought to a close a most enjoyable evening.
