PREFABRICATED HOUSE
EXPERIMENTAL TENANTS The proposed temporary prefabricated steel house 'known as the Churchill house which has been the subject of a great deal of criticism, is now called the Portal house after J Lord Minister for Works, whose Ministry would be responsible for its> construction. It is now stated that a married couple will spend three Aveeks an the specimen house to test its "livability." The Ministries of Works and of Health who are jointly responsible or these post-war homes have already made many changes based on, criticism and suggestions from hundreds of men and women who have seen the specimen house. These include higher ceilings, a back door, improved hot water circulation, and a bigger bathroom.
A soldier and his wife will probably be chosen for experimental tenants.
